Sean Kingston Publishing is delighted to announce a new series bringing the work of Portuguese scholarship on Africa to an English language readership in co-operation with the Centro de Estudos Africanos - ISCTE (CEA-ISCTE). This centre's main activity is the promotion of research in Social Sciences on sub-Saharan African regional contexts, with special regard to Portuguese-speaking countries. It is the largest (120 members) and most active in its kind in Portugal.

The primary research themes promoted by the CEA-ISCTE and this series are:

• African social and political realities (political actors and spaces, traditional and modern forms of political authority, state and society, politics and violence)
• African societies and economies (entrepreneurship, markets, employment strategies, informal economy)
• Cooperation and development (decentralized cooperation, NGOs and African states, evaluation of development programmes)
